I think that my child has "pink eye." What should I do?

"Pink eye," also known as acute Conjunctivitis is contagious and some forms will need antibiotic eye drops prescribed as treatment.

There are several types of Conjunctivitis. Bacterial, Viral, and Allergic are just a few types.

Not all types of Conjunctivitis require eye drops. Some cases will clear on their own.  The type of Conjunctivitis that usually requires eye drops is the bacterial type.  This type is associated with thick, crusty eye drainage in one or both eyes.

Remember, the white of your eye does not have to be pink to have conjunctivitis.
