Sinai Hospital of Baltimore is the largest and most comprehensive community hospital in Maryland, and the third largest teaching hospital. The 428-bed hospital was founded in 1866 as the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum, and has evolved as a Jewish sponsored health care organization providing care for all. Sinai is a non-profit institution with a mission of patient care, teaching and research. Sinai, with a mission that includes the teaching of future generations of health professionals, shares many of the characteristics of a university-owned hospital. Its own distinguished full-time faculty, with national and international reputations, also teach at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine or the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

St. Joseph Medical Center is a 308-bed acute care, not-for-profit, regional medical center located on a 37-acre site in Towson, Maryland. The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia founded the medical center with the guidance of the medical center's board of trustees.
